Dinorwig Power Station, Additional Stored Energy, LlanberisFollowing successful planning for the raising of the Dinorwig Dam in Llanberis by some 2.5m, ecological surveys highlighted areas which were of ecological importance, with particular reference to important bryophytes and lichens. Spoil from Dinorwig Quarry was used to infill the outer slope of the dam, which was made up of loose boulders.

Natural recolonization from the reclaimed spoil and plug planting established to conceal the new element of the dam, marrying it in to what was already a sensitive landscape.  Transplanting of a rare bryophyte and lichen was also undertaken.

Ffestiniog Power Station Community Cycle Route - A basic ecological walk over survey aided Sian in the siting of a community mountain biking facility in and around Ffestiniog Power Station.  A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment was undertaken by Sian to advise on the route with the least impact both visually and upon the landscape.  Exiting vegetation was proposed for retention where possible.
